KHOU11, the TEGNA-owned, CBS-affiliate, in Houston, Texas (DMA #6), is seeking an experienced, results-focused, Marketing Director to join the executive leadership team.This is an incredible opportunity to work with an exceptional team of professionals and to lead, distinguish, and grow the STANDS FOR HOUSTON brand in the fourth-largest, most diverse-city in America.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the KHOU11 leadership team in the development, communication, and execution of strong strategies that help KHOU11 achieve measurable results. Including, but not limited to: ratings, digital audience growth, revenue, station projects and brand health.
- Provide coaching, instruction, and constructive feedback to KHOU11's creative team.
- Develop and effectively articulate what it means to STAND FOR HOUSTON for each colleague, working in every capacity across the organization.
- Strategic management of KHOU11's promotional inventory.
- Planning and execution of off-channel marketing campaigns in a variety of mediums, including, but not limited to: social media, outdoor, ad-supported video-on-demand, radio and cable.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally with content, community, and sales departments in the development and execution of station projects.
- 7+ years of experience in media marketing or similar field with a track record of achieving results
- Strong messaging and media planning skills
- Strong opportunity-recognition, planning, organizational, and execution skills
- Ability to develop and effectively articulate brand-strategy for colleagues working in every capacity across the organization
- Sophisticated understanding-of and response-to various forms of market research
- Maturity to balance big, creative ideas with the disciplined execution of marketing strategy
- Ability to receive, process, and effectively respond to feedback and performance metrics
- Ability to prioritize between competing interests
- Mature approach to leadership and conflict resolution
- Positive, optimistic, and courageous attitude
- Curiosity about developing communication platforms and a strong discipline for ongoing education around new opportunities
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency within a deadline-oriented, fast-paced team environment, juggling multiple projects and priorities at once.
- Competence in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office is preferred
- Must be comfortable working non-traditional hours in breaking-news and severe-weather situations.
- Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
- Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
- Physical Demands Set: Sedentary work: Involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
