This position can sit in our any of our US offices and offers a hybrid remote opportunity. Candidates must reside in a state where there is a DLA Piper office. 

The Sr. Marketing Manager for the Life Sciences sector is a critical role on our sector marketing team with a mission to elevate the brand and services of our firm’s sectors. Experience with Life Sciences is a plus.

The position requires a self-starter and leader, with accomplished critical thinking skills, who can partner with other marketing, business development, administrative and executive team members to achieve business objectives. Candidates must have a client service focus, an understanding of the value proposition of sectors in a sophisticated global law firm, and possess strong writing and communications skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence to help successfully navigate a large and multi-faceted sector.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field
  • 8 years’ marketing/business development experience in a professional services environment
  • 3 years’ supervisory experience
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong research, writing, communication, presentation and data analysis skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with RFP process
  • Strong client service orientation and project management
  • Ability to generate immediate credibility with firm attorneys

Preferred Requirements:

  • Graduate degree
  • Previous law firm experience
  • Life sciences experience

What will your day look like?
As a Sr. Marketing Manager, you will identify, drive, and oversee new business development opportunities and marketing initiatives to achieve the revenue growth objectives of the firm.

You will execute go-to-market plans that deliver results that support brand strategy and focus on sector priority areas in collaboration with the life sciences sector leaders.  You will manage client-centric and data-driven, integrated marketing and business development campaigns that deliver results against strategic priorities.  You will lead the implementation of leading-edge marketing tactics across several functional areas of the marketing, BD and communications team that include brand, digital and social marketing, public relations, collateral and sales enablement tools, and events.  You will understand key business issues our clients are facing, market dynamics, and competitive strategies to improve the development of messaging and go-to-market strategies.  

Additional responsibilities will be to write marketing collateral and business development content, leveraging a strong knowledge of the sector capabilities and value proposition. You will drive an effective strategy for achieving awards and directories’ recognition that reflects the sector’s capabilities and successes on behalf of clients. You will lead the onboarding and integration of key laterals and their client base.  You will assist with planning sector meetings and retreats as well as manage the sector marketing budget to align with sector group priorities.  You will measure and track results of marketing programs and report on ROI.
