The Communications Specialist will be responsible, in coordination with the broader communications and marketing teams, for supporting public relations initiatives and other day-to-day communications activities. (Office Location(s): Chicago, Philadelphia)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and produce highquality content for press releases, media pitches, the firm’s website, social media posts, and deal and awards submissions, as well as other materials as assigned.
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and coordinate media inquiries and interviews.
- Ensure all communications align with the firm's brand guidelines and maintain a consistent tone and style.
- Assist in monitoring and regularly reporting results of communications and public relations activities.
- Assist in updating and maintaining media contact lists.
- Assist in drafting, scheduling, and monitoring both organic and paid social media content to help amplify key media coverage, firm news, and campaigns.
- Work closely with the Marketing team, practice groups, and other departments to support communication needs and initiatives.
- Ensure all communications comply with relevant laws, regulations, and firm policies.
- Leverage AI to generate or improve content and create efficiencies in communications workflows.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent oral, writing, editing, and project management skills with a strong understanding of AP style.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Process-oriented mindset, with the ability to follow and help improve workflows, calendars, and tracking systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with industry-specific communication practices and trends.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, with a specialization in communications, English, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in communications, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Experience with media relations and public relations strategies.
- Experience drafting and posting organic and paid social media content for a professional services organization.
- Experience using AI to support content generation and communications projects.

Hiring Salary Range:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00
