Summary/Objective
The Construction Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities pertaining to the construction, renovation, and maintenance of assigned projects. Assignments may start at the conceptual level, proceed through the design phase, the bid and award phase, the construction phase, and then closeout and warranty implementation.
Essential Functions
- Assists the project manager with conducting property inspections, completing reports, attaining all necessary permits, and establishing budgets.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to coordinate matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
- Plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
- Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building codes and safety procedures and other regulations.
- Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with environmental regulations.
- Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems.
- Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction means and methods.
- Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, or subcontractors.
- Develop or implement quality control programs.
- Develop or implement environmental protection programs.
- Implement new or modified plans in response to delays, bad weather, or construction site emergencies.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to representatives of the owner or developer, including administrative staff, workers, or clients.
- Perform or contract others to perform prebuilding assessments, such as conceptual cost estimating, rough order of magnitude estimating, feasibility, or energy efficiency, environmental, and sustainability assessments.

Preferred Education and Experience
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 7 years of experience in Preconstruction and Construction is preferred
- Certification in Construction Management (CCM) is preferred
- Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline-oriented
- Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization
- Experience with document controls software (eBuilder, Prolog, etc.)
- Organizational skills
- Experience creating, updating, and maintaining spreadsheets and databases
- OSHA 30 Safety Certification
Position Type
This is a full-time position.
Travel
Ability to travel to jobs sites and Envision offices as needed.
