Pumford Construction, Inc. is currently in need of a CDL A heavy haul driver to transport material and equipment to and from various construction job sites.

This job requires a current CDL A; Lowboy experience preferred. All trucking is lower Michigan and overnight trips are not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Drive truck with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver materials and/or equipment.
• Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
• Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary.
• Provide top notch customer service.
• Function always with a safety-first mentality.
• Basic understanding and knowledge of building materials
• Must be willing to learn the tools and equipment of the construction trade.
• Must be dependable and show up on time for all assignments.
• Willing to work weekends and overtime as required.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License Class A with air brakes.
• Clean driving record for past 3 years.
• Ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen.
• Previous experience in a construction trucking environment a positive.
