Description
Nordex USA, Inc is seeking a Project Manager, Blades in our West Branch, IA office responsible for managing any special project designated within the Technical Backoffice Department, specially focused on Blades Projects. Special projects are considered Blade Inspections/Repairs Campaigns or Main Corrective campaigns. Ensure all projects meet or exceed Nordex HSE legal requirements (project preparation) and engage in overall HSE responsibility of Nordex activity at the project (project execution). Assist with the project planning and execution of individual projects in North America and budget Forecast and Cost Control. Responsible for project reporting and claim management and engage in the coordination and implementation of technical solutions in cooperation with the Engineering and Supply Management department. 25% domestic travel required. Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Aeronautical, Industrial) or related + 3 years of experience. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and experience. 2 years of experience required with the following:
Executing and managing blade repair projects utilizing infusion technique, hand lay up (HLU) and Vacuum consolidation.
Executing and managing blade internal and external inspection projects (including drone, crawler, visual inspections).
Managing blade balancing projects, calculating new sets with Initial and final moments (kg*m)
Coordinate lightning protection system (LPS) campaigns including conductivity measurement test and Lightning cable replacement/repairs.
Managing Leading Edge Protection (LEP) campaigns utilizing 3M tapes, ELLE-Polytech or paint.
Define the best elevations systems per scope, taking into consideration operations and financial impact (Boom Trucks, 2M Baskets, 360 Platform with all configurations)
