We are seeking to hire a Project Manager - Upstream who will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of upstream oil & gas projects and business initiatives. The role is responsible for managing multidisciplinary project activities, supporting business development efforts, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of operational and commercial objectives. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Energy, Business, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years' relevant experience within the oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate upstream project activities from planning through execution and delivery.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and progress tracking tools to support efficient project execution.
• Coordinate technical, commercial, procurement, logistics, HSE, and operational workstreams.
• Monitor project timelines, risks, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure successful project delivery.
• Support preparation of Expressions of Interest (EOIs), tenders, technical proposals, and commercial submissions.
• Identify and track upstream business opportunities within Kenya and the wider East African region.
• Coordinate project meetings, stakeholder engagements, and progress review sessions.
• Support partnership development with operators, contractors, and technical service providers.
• Ensure compliance with HSSEQ standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare project reports, dashboards, management updates, and executive presentations.
• Support budgeting, commercial evaluations, and operational planning activities.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and internal teams.
• Promote continuous improvement, collaboration, and efficient project delivery practices.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned in support of business operations.
Required Qualifications:
• Must have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Energy, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
• Must have a minimum of 7 years' relevant experience within the oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Experience supporting upstream oil & gas projects or operations is highly desirable.
• Strong experience in project coordination, stakeholder management, and business development activities.
• Agile Project Management certification, PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within fast-paced environments.
• High level of professionalism, adaptability, and execution focus.
