Location: Kenya

Contract Type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Engagement Length 12 months

Years of Experience: 3-5 years in a similar role

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degreein a related field

Certifications: PMP, Prince2, or Agile/Scrum certifications (advantageous)

Work Model Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)

Key Skills

Strong technical project management experience

Proven track record in payments, fintech, or financial services environments

Experience managing integration projects (APIs, payment gateways, third-party platforms)

Excellent cross-team coordination and stakeholder management skills

Ability to drive device or merchant rollout initiatives

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello)

Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

Lead and manage end-to-end technical projects, with a focus on payments and fintech integrations

Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations, client stakeholders) to ensure project alignment and timely delivery

Oversee device or merchant rollout initiatives, ensuring smooth onboarding and deployment

Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and status reports

Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively resolving issues as they arise

Communicate project progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders at all levels

Ensure all integration and rollout activities meet quality, compliance, and security standards

Requirements

5+ years of technical project management experience

Experience in payments, fintech, or related financial services sectors

Demonstrated ability to manage integration projects and cross-team initiatives

Experience with device or merchant rollouts is highly desirable

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Relevant project management certifications are an advantage
