Description
Technical Project Manager - Integration ( Education Technology Programme)We are seeking a highly capable Technical Project Manager to join a large- scale digital transformation programme within the education sector. This role will focus on leading and coordinating a complex integration stream involving numerous systems, APIs, and development teams. The successful candidate will be someone who can step into an active programme, quickly understand the technical landscape, and drive delivery at pace .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a large integration workstream within an enterprise technology programme.
- Coordinate and manage 30- 40 system integrations across internal teams and external partners.
- Act as the central point of coordination between front- end teams, integration teams, and external delivery partners .
- Facilitate collaboration between multiple stakeholders to ensure integrations are delivered efficiently and to specification.
- Ensure API contracts and integration standards are clearly defined, documented, and adhered to across teams.
- Oversee the setup and governance of integration workflows, including API definition, version control, and contract enforcement .
- Work closely with development teams to ensure front- end and integration workstreams progress in parallel without blockers.
- Manage project timelines, address delivery challenges, and step in to resolve issues when projects fall behind schedule.
- Maintain clear and responsive communication with programme leadership and stakeholders.
The programme involves a modern integration architecture and tools such as:
- Event streaming and messaging platforms
- API development and gateways
- Workflow orchestration tools
- API testing and contract validation tools
- Modern backend and integration frameworks
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering technical projects involving complex integrations .
- Strong understanding of API- driven architectures and system integration patterns .
- Ability to work effectively with engineering teams while managing delivery from a project perspective .
- Experience coordinating work across multiple technical teams and external vendors/ partners .
- Comfortable asking technical questions and facilitating technical discussions , even if not directly writing code.
- Demonstrated ability to step into challenging projects and bring delivery back on track .
- Highly responsive, organised, and capable of operating in a fast- moving programme environment .
- Technical background with experience in software delivery, integrations, or platform engineering environments .
- Around 5- 10 years of relevant experience is typical, although capability and impact are more important than years.
- Experience in the education sector or large enterprise transformation programmes is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to direct delivery across multiple teams without hands- on coding
- Comfortable operating in high- pressure programme environments
- Excellent communicator who can align technical and non- technical stakeholders
