Description
Project Manager (licensed engineer - P.E.)
At SSFM, a multidiscipline engineering consulting firm in Hawaii, our Project Manager role is uniquely tailored to our company culture, community values, and size. We need someone who embodies the following qualities:
Versatility and Initiative: Our PMs go beyond overseeing projects—they step into multiple roles, from hands-on project work to direct client engagement. Adaptability and a proactive attitude are essential, as responsibilities often extend beyond a standard job description.
Community and Relationship Focus: Success at SSFM means building trust and strong relationships within Hawaii’s tight-knit business and community circles. We need someone who communicates well, respects local culture, and is committed to the long-term well-being of our clients and island communities.
Resourcefulness in a Small Team: With a smaller team and limited resources at times, our PMs must be comfortable making decisions with limited information, quickly adapting to changing project scopes, and finding creative solutions to challenges.
Active, Supportive Leadership: Our PMs lead by example, providing mentorship to junior staff and directly participating in project execution. Fostering a collaborative, supportive team environment is a must.
Local Knowledge or Commitment to Learn: Experience with Hawaii’s regulatory environment, permitting, and inter-island logistics is a significant plus. However, a demonstrated willingness to learn and engage with these unique challenges is also highly valued.
