Jensen Outdoor is a fast-growing, industry-leading brand of premium outdoor luxury furniture recognized for sustainable forestry, classic modern styling, and exceptional comfort. We are seeking a design-savvy, highly collaborative, and data-driven Marketing Director to take ownership of our brand message and accelerate long-term growth across our residential design, contract, hospitality, and wholesale trade channels.
Serving as a core member of the Leadership and Product Development Management (PDM) teams, the Marketing Director will blend high-level strategy with hands-on production. You will champion our brand narrative—"Made to Inspire"—across our primary audiences: independent outdoor specialty retailers, to-the-trade showrooms, interior designers, architects, commercial developers, and our growing contract/hospitality division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Brand Strategy & Channel Expansion
- Brand Custodian: Define, manage, and scale the premium brand identity of Jensen Outdoor as a leader in sustainable luxury wood, woven and aluminum outdoor furniture.
- Commercial & Design Trade Growth: Drive dedicated marketing initiatives specifically tailored to commercial and design stakeholders: independent outdoor retailers, to-the-trade showrooms, luxury interior design professionals, hospitality purchasing agents, and contract specifiers.
- Market Intelligence: Maintain deep expertise in the premium furniture industry, tracking competitor landscape, design trade trends, commercial distribution opportunities, and shifting buyer requirements within the wholesale, contract, and hospitality sectors.
2. Content Creation, Imagery & Art Direction
- Visual Asset Production: Organize, style, produce, and direct high-end digital image direction and video campaigns for digital platforms, social media, hospitality portfolios, and printed trade catalogs.
- Design & Layout Execution: Guide the layout, aesthetic, and design execution for all showroom, commercial tradeshow, and in-store collateral, ensuring rigorous attention to detail across every touchpoint.
- Copywriting & Message Control: Personally craft, edit, and oversee compelling brand copy used across B2B advertising, email, web, and trade ecosystems.
3. Digital Marketing & Showroom Management
- Web & Social Ecosystems: Oversee the content management, performance, and functionality of JensenOutdoor.com while deploying dedicated social media strategies aimed strictly at engaging interior designers, architects, hospitality buyers, and contract procurement teams.
- Experiential Marketing: Oversee layout, merchandising ideas, and aesthetic presentation for permanent corporate showrooms and major industry tradeshows across both retail and contract sectors, including Casual Market Atlanta, High Point Furniture Market, and other key trade events.
- Influencer & PR Relations: Build robust business relationships with design influencers, high-end architects, commercial planners, and industry trade publications to natively embed the brand in high-value B2B conversations.
4. Financial & Departmental Leadership
- Fiscal Responsibility: Establish, track, and optimize the annual Marketing department budget to maximize marketing ROI.
- Co-Op & Media Buying: Develop, negotiate, and execute a comprehensive co-op advertising program across regional print, digital, and social channels with key retail, commercial, and trade partners.
- Agency & Team Management: Work alongside internal staff and specialized local creative, digital, and PR agencies to ensure flawless execution of marketing deliverables.
- Analytics & KPI Tracking: Establish, track, and report on key marketing performance indicators, turning campaign data into actionable growth insights.
5. Cross-Functional Operations & Compliance
- Product Development Integration: Partner with executive leadership to build product reviews, product launch collateral, and technical specification tools for the sales team, contract buyers, and strategic trade accounts.
- Sustainability Licensing: Coordinate cross-departmentally to collect necessary documentation to pass annual FSC-licensing audits, ensuring the brand’s 100% certified wood promise remains true for eco-conscious commercial projects.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive marketing experience working with a premium consumer durable brand operating in wholesale/retail distribution, commercial contract, hospitality, and design trade environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, or a related field required.
- Creative Competency: Proven track record in brand building and collateral generation; a strong graphic design, digital image direction, or agency-level copywriting background is highly desired.
- Tech Savvy: Deep fluency with digital platforms, CRM platforms, web analytics, and creative software suites (Adobe Creative Cloud, Indesign and Illustrator).
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel 10–15% across North America for tradeshows, customer site visits and supply chain verification.
