Rolling Plains Construction is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Traveling Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects across the United States. This role is responsible for leading projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, an effective communicator, and thrives in a fast-paced, travel-based environment.
Ideal candidate profile:
5+ years of experience in construction project management (required)
2+years of fireproofing experience (required)
Willingness and ability to travel extensively (75–100%)
Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and cost control
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
Travel to project sites nationwide and maintain consistent on-site leadership
Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success
Oversee project schedules and proactively address delays or challenges
Monitor budgets, track costs, and ensure financial accountability
Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and client requirements
Lead project meetings, provide regular updates, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders
Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to ensure project alignment
Manage procurement of materials and coordinate logistics for traveling crews
Mentor and support field staff to maintain high performance and morale
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in fireproofing, coatings, or specialty trades
OSHA certification (10 or 30)
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
