MMSD is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Project Manager in the Technical Services Division. Reporting to the Section Manager, you will provide project management services for assigned MMSD projects to ensure completion is on time, within budget, and the needs of collaborators and stakeholders are met. These projects involve the development of cost-effective solutions to watercourse flood management.
- Manage consultant and other professional service contracts to ensure conformance with MMSD policies, procedures, and standards. Ensure contracts are completed within schedule and budget.
- Review and provide input to applicable models, plans, and reports created for various projects and offer solutions to related issues.
- Ensure completion of all required project documentation and recordkeeping. Accurately manage databases to track and update work.
- Coordinate and communicate with the construction team, that manage and administer construction contracts, to ensure all provisions of the contract are in compliance with contract documents and regulations.
- Provide quality assurance reviews.
- Prepare and advertise requests for proposals (RFPs) for procurement of consultants and other professional services related to assigned projects.
- Prepare schedule and estimates for MMSD's annual and long-range capital and operations and maintenance (O&M) budgets.
- Assist other MMSD departments (e.g. Legal, Engineering Planning, etc.) with technical expertise as needed.
- Manage the acquisition of all required easements, permits, and intergovernmental cooperation agreements for assigned projects and contracts.
- Comply with safety work rules and regulations while on project sites.
- Complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Six years of job-related experience (advanced education degrees will be considered in lieu of experience).
- Valid WI Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Experience with watercourse design work, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (1D & 2D), Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) and Federal
- Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) floodplain map revisions, and permitting.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- High degree of interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to resolve conflict.
- Ability to effectively coordinate, facilitate, and present at stakeholder and public meetings.
- Ability to work independently to apply engineering principles and practices to the solution of engineering problems.
- Experience in managing and controlling multiple project schedules and budgets.
- Scheduling software experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to complete OSHA safety, confined spaces, and first aid training.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record at time of application, during the selection process, and throughout employment.

Physical Requirements:
- This work is sedentary and requires little exertion of force.
- Work regularly requires sitting, speaking, hearing, and using hands. Work occasionally requires standing and walking.

- Work has standard vision requirements. Vocal communication is required for expressing ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
