Freelance IT Project Manager (Cloud & Digital Transformation)

Up to €700/day

12-Month Contract

Remote (Germany) | 1 day per month onsite in Essen

Are you an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong background in cloud transformation, Microsoft 365, and enterprise IT projects?

We're partnering with a leading international organisation to find an experienced Freelance IT Project Manager to lead complex digital transformation initiatives across multiple business units. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile cloud migration and modernisation projects within a dynamic international environment.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the delivery of complex IT and digital transformation projects from initiation through to completion
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, quality and stakeholder expectations
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, suppliers and technical specialists across multiple locations
• Drive cloud migration and modernisation initiatives, ensuring successful delivery and business adoption
• Manage project governance, reporting, RAID logs and documentation using Jira
• Build strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders, including senior leadership
• Facilitate workshops, steering committees and project meetings
• Monitor project costs and ensure effective supplier management
• Support change management and user adoption throughout project delivery

What we're looking for

• Proven experience delivering large-scale enterprise IT projects
• Strong background in one or more of the following:
• Azure Cloud
• AWS
• Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID)
• Infrastructure
• Applications & Integrations
• Data Management
• Recent experience delivering cloud transformation programmes, ideally including:
• On-premises to Azure migrations
• Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Identity, email or device migrations
• File Server to SharePoint migrations
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience engaging up to C-level
• Experience managing geographically dispersed teams and third-party suppliers
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and Jira
• Experience in change management and business adoption
• Consultancy experience is advantageous
• ITIL knowledge is desirable
• Native/C1 German and fluent English are essential
