Asante Gold Corporation is a gold exploration, development and operating company with a high-quality portfolio of projects and mines in Ghana. Asante is currently operating the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines and continues with detailed technical studies at its Kubi Gold Project for early production.All mines and projects are located on the prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. Asante is also exploring its Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and Betenase projects for new discoveries, all adjoining or along strike of major gold mines near the centre of Ghana's Golden Triangle. Asante is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange and the OTCQX Market. We co-listed our shares on the Ghana Stock Exchange to allow a whole new group of Ghanaian investors the opportunity to invest in the growth of their own local gold mining industry.
Asante has an experienced and skilled team of mine finders, builders and operators, with extensive experience in Ghana. Our experienced team members are our most precious asset, having discovered, explored and developed more than 24Moz of gold resources and reserves in Ghana; and having managed Ghana's largest underground mine.
About This Role
The ERP Project Manager will serve as the client-side lead for the end-to-end implementation and rollout of the new ERP System (Pronto) across the organization, covering Finance, Supply Chain, Plant Maintenance, Project Management and supporting operational functions within the mining environment.
The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating internal stakeholders, establishing and maintaining project governance and driving the delivery of key project milestones. This includes ensuring organizational readiness across all phases of the project lifecycle-solution design, technical configuration, conference room pilot (CRP), user acceptance testing (UAT), training, cutover and go-live
The ERP Project Manager will be responsible for collaborating with implementation partners' project manager and consultants to ensure project governance, vendor management, business engagement, technical coordination, risk management, and successful delivery of the ERP solution within agreed timelines, scope and budget.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership & Governance
- Provide overall leadership for the end-to-end ERP implementation, from project initiation through post-go-live stabilization.
- Develop, maintain and manage detailed project plans, milestones, dependencies, and internal deliverables.
- Coordinate and align internal workstreams across Finance, Procurement, Inventory, Maintenance, Projects, IT, and Operations.
- Monitor and manage project actions, risks, issues, change requests, decisions, and approvals.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance structures, including reporting and escalation frameworks.
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation to ensure project objectives are met.
- Deliver regular executive-level project status reports and escalate risks, delays, or constraints as required.
- Chair project steering committee and working group meetings to ensure alignment and timely decision-making.
2. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal business stakeholders and the Pronto ERP implementation partner.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring contractual obligations, deliverables, and service levels are met.
- Coordinate engagement and availability of cross-functional stakeholders, site leaders and subject matter experts across Finance, Supply Chain & Procurement, HR & Payroll, Plant Maintenance, Projects, IT Infrastructure & Security.
- Engage operational teams across multiple mining sites to ensure consistent participation and adoption.
- Ensure alignment between business requirements, functional design and technical implementation.
3. Functional Implementation Oversight
- Review and validate functional designs to ensure alignment with business processes and operational requirements.
- Lead and coordinate data migration strategy, execution, validation, and sign-off.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure infrastructure readiness, system setup, security architecture, and access management.
- Ensure cybersecurity and information security controls are embedded within the ERP deployment.
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, execution, defect resolution and approvals.
- Ensure change management and business readiness activities are effectively delivered.
4. Data and Reporting Coordination
- Coordinate internal ownership of master data, migration inputs, and validation processes.
- Monitor and track data cleansing, reconciliation, and formal sign-off activities.
- Support reporting requirements and ensure business validation of reports and analytics outputs.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate and available for operational and audit purposes.
5. Risk, Quality & Compliance
- Maintain risk register and mitigation plans
- Ensure data governance and internal control compliance
- Monitor testing quality and defect resolution
- Ensure audit readiness and documentation completeness
- Implement change control procedures
6. Change Management & Training
- Coordinate train-the-trainer programs and end-user training activities.
- Ensure functional and site teams are prepared for new processes, roles, and controls prior to go-live
- Support go-live planning, post-implementation stabilization, and internal hyper care support.
- Contribute to business process transformation initiatives enabled by the ERP solution.
- Develop and support communication plans to drive user adoption and engagement.
- Monitor post-go-live user adoption, system performance, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or its equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional project management experience.
- Proven delivery of full ERP implementation in a Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager role.
- ERP implementation certification and/or proven ERP delivery experience.
- Experience working with agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies is an advantage.
- Experience implementing mid-tier or enterprise ERP solutions (e.g., Pronto, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Dynamics).
- Experience working within mining or asset-intensive, site-based operational environments.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-site deployments.
- ERP implementation lifecycle management.
- Business process analysis, mapping, and redesign.
- Data migration planning and data governance.
- Systems integration and API coordination.
- Cybersecurity awareness within ERP environments.
- Exposure to cloud-based ERP deployments.
- Reporting and analytics implementation.
- OT/IT integration experience (highly desirable in mining environments).
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
- Proven stakeholder management, negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive accountability.
- Strong vendor and systems integrator management experience.
- Experience leading large, cross-functional teams and managing project budgets.
