Description
Job DescriptionMost Event Roles Are About Logistics. This One Is About Outcomes.
Deriv runs events that move traders: seminars, sponsorships, partner activations, regional campaigns. Not networking socials. Revenue-generating, relationship-building operations that feed a trading platform used by millions of people, around the clock, in markets where first impressions are everything.
We're looking for someone organised enough to keep ten moving parts in sync, curious enough to ask why something worked, and honest enough to say when it didn't.
Why This Matters
Deriv's mission is Trading for Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime. The Middle East is a priority growth region, and Dubai is where a lot of that regional strategy takes shape: partner relationships, sponsorships, and market entry work that doesn't happen over email.
Events are how we earn trust in these markets. A poorly run partner seminar doesn't just waste the budget. It damages a relationship that took months to build. A well-run activation opens doors that emails can't.
You'll be part of a team where the work you do is visible, the stakes are real, and there's no hiding in the middle of a large department.
Why Deriv
We're an AI-first business, not as a tagline, but as how work actually gets done.
- 65%+ of customer enquiries resolved by AI. Not scripts. Genuine judgment calls.
- Campaign pipelines generating content in hours, not weeks.
- 400+ internal users on our workflow orchestration platform.
- You'll use AI tools for event planning, not because it sounds modern, but because they genuinely save hours.
This is an AI-assisted environment. You'll be expected to use the tools, ask what they can do, and figure out which parts of your work should stay human.
What You'll Do
Plan and execute events that actually run smoothly
- Manage event timelines, checklists, and deliverables end-to-end
- Coordinate across internal teams (marketing, digital, PR, country managers) to make sure nothing falls through the cracks
- Communicate clearly when timelines shift, budgets are under pressure, or plans change
Use AI tools the way they're meant to be used
- Run event planning and post-event analysis through AI-assisted workflows
- Generate audience engagement reports and performance summaries without manual grunt work
- Experiment with what tools can handle, and be clear about what they can't
Track outcomes, not just activities
- Document partner feedback and convert it into usable insights
- Update OKRs based on what events actually produced, not what was planned
- Flag problems early rather than polishing reports that don't reflect what happened
Support wider marketing operations
- Help coordinate PR initiatives, including Forex awards campaigns
- Support strategic giveaway planning with country managers
- Keep Global Partnership campaigns on deadline
Who You Are
You've managed at least one project under pressure
- Minimum two years in event management, project coordination, or a closely related role. You've had responsibility for something that had to happen on a specific day, and it did. Tell us about it.
You communicate clearly, in English and under pressure
- Most of your cross-functional work will be in English. You don't need to be perfect, but you need to be clear, especially when deadlines are close and stakes are high.
You're organised in a way that doesn't depend on reminders from others
- You keep your own checklists. You track your own deadlines. When you're juggling five things, you know which one is most likely to break, and you're watching it.
You're genuinely curious about AI
- Not "comfortable with technology" curious. Actually curious about what AI tools do, how they work, and how to use them well. This is an AI-first environment. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn matter more than existing expertise.
You take responsibility when things go wrong
- At this level, mistakes happen. What matters is that you own them, fix them, and don't repeat them. We're not looking for perfect. We're looking for honest and accountable.
The Honest Reality
This is a role in a demanding environment. You'll be learning about real events with real consequences, not simulations. Some weeks will be intense. Some plans will fall apart. You'll have support: senior colleagues will help you when you're stuck. But the expectation is that you come prepared, ask the right questions, and don't wait to be told what to do next.
Dubai is a hub for a region we're still building out. That means opportunity, but it also means you'll sometimes be working without precedent, without a playbook, and without a lot of time to figure it out.
If you want a role where someone else owns the outcomes, this isn't it. If you want to build real skills in a place where your work is visible and consequential, it might be.
