About the role:
This role focuses on managing the deployment of network cabling infrastructure, including point-to-point connections, fiber optic installations, copper cabling, structured cabling systems, and patching. The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and quality assurance of all cabling-related tasks, ensuring installations meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in network cabling infrastructure deployment and experience working with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with technical requirements.
The PM will serve as a key interface between internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless coordination and efficient issue resolution.
This is a field-intensive role requiring frequent site visits, technical oversight, and strong communication skills to lead cabling infrastructure projects successfully.
What You'll do:
- Conduct site inspections to verify progress and address specific concerns.
- Attend progress claim walks to validate completed works.
- Provide feedback and recommendations on identified issues.
- Support the cost manager in assessing claims and reviewing supporting documentation.
- Evaluate safety and quality issues and provide first-hand insights.
- Assist in technical assessments of claims and program submissions.
- Coordinate with CDC point of contact to receive inspection items prior to site visits.
- Report weekly findings and recommendations to CDC and internal teams.
What You'll Need:
Experience
- Strong background in managing the deployment of network cabling infrastructure, including fiber optic, copper cabling, point-to-point connections, and structured cabling systems.
- Experience working in data centers, enterprise IT facilities, or telecommunications environments.
- Proven ability to collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to meet project objectives.
- Familiarity with standards and best practices for cabling infrastructure, such as TIA/EIA or ISO/IEC standards.
Skills
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of network cabling deployment processes, including routing, cable dressing, labelling, patching, and pathway creation (e.g., cable trays, conduits).
- Project Oversight: Ability to supervise installations, evaluate progress, and address quality and compliance issues on-site.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Experience coordinating with external vendors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met, while maintaining clear communication with internal stakeholders.
- Inspection and Reporting: Skilled in performing detailed site inspections and compiling concise reports on findings, progress, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Experience with cabling testing tools such as Fluke or OTDR testers.
- Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or similar environments is a plus.
