Description
Summary:The Director of Sales is responsible for implementing and leading an aggressive sales and marketing plan to promote the services, facilities, and benefits of Club membership to multiple target markets. Candidate should be able to think broadly and analyze the Club's position and industry trends to make appropriate recommendations to the General Manager. This position oversees all prospective membership sales and follows through with conversions, the membership approval process, new member onboarding, and overall membership strategy. Responsible for creating and overseeing the delivery of sales & marketing programs and services to Silver Creek Valley Country Club by leveraging interpersonal relationships, industry best practices, and current trends in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develops and leads a strategic membership program designed to increase total membership count and membership dues revenue.
• Answers member and prospective member questions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Leads all stages of the membership sales process from prospecting through conversion and onboarding.
• Develops and ensures proper maintenance of an accurate contact management system (CRM), including contact records, lead sources, and activity management.
• Develops and executes a professional sales presentation, which highlights the benefits of membership.
• Responsible for networking with community partners, local corporate executives, business leaders, media contacts, attending business association functions, attaining referrals from existing business clients, and lead generation.
• Tracks conversion metrics including lead-to-tour and tour-to-join ratios.
• Responsible for achieving annual membership sales goals and initiation fee revenue targets.
• Maintains a complete understanding of the membership categories, bylaws, and rules and regulations.
• Works with the General Manager, Membership Committee, and Troon to recommend membership pricing, category structures, and promotional strategies based on market demand and club capacity. Continuously monitors market response to membership programs and proactively adjusts strategies to remain competitive and aligned with evolving market conditions.
• Maintains accurate membership records on all members.
• Prepares weekly and monthly membership reports for General Manager, Membership Committee, and Board of Directors.
• Conducts ongoing competitive market analysis of regional clubs, pricing trends, and membership offerings to maintain a competitive position.
• Develops strong relationships with listing agents for local real estate through meetings and club updates.
• Communicates and executes effective new homeowner programs within the gates and neighboring communities.
• Directs and collaborates on the distribution of various marketing materials designed to enhance sales activity.
• Effective team member that offers solutions and suggestions to membership complaints, issues, facility challenges, and overall ways to better enhance service, a hospitality culture, and the Club culture.
• Promotes a club-wide culture of sales by educating staff on membership value and encouraging referrals.
• Oversee the content development and facilitate the production of all membership-related materials, including but not limited to prospecting, sales, and member communications; website; social media channels; membership sales kit; and documents associated with onboarding.
• Maintains and develops relationships with current members to encourage club participation in events, socials, and daily enhancements. This is to include, but not be limited to, attending member functions and weekly social engagements that members frequent.
• Effectively communicates pertinent membership information and policy changes to management and associates, along with realtors and existing members, to increase knowledge of membership goals, membership satisfaction, and membership retention.
• Facilitates new member orientations and new member programs, and develops programs that retain current members.
• Leads the content, production/packaging, and delivery of thorough and accurate onboarding of every new member.
• Oversees and collaborates with the Marketing and Communications Manager to:
o Assist in the preparation and distribution of all member communications, including but not limited to, flyers, newsletters, and email blasts.
o Assist in ongoing maintenance and management of the club website, both on the public and private sides.
o Assists in the coordination of club events, including invitations, mailings, publicity, and event execution.
o Strategize, capture, schedule, and deploy social media content across club channels
o Holds to account for strong member engagement and click-through rates for internal club marketing and external membership marketing efforts.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the General Manager.
• Attend staff meetings, committee meetings, required training, and member events as directed by the General Manager.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
• 5+ years of experience in a membership sales role with a proven track record of success.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working in private club or semi-private club sales and marketing. High-end hospitality experience in a sales role or similar may also be considered.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, Business/Marketing preferred
• Must have solid and demonstrated promotional and sales skills.
• Must be highly motivated, goal-driven, and a self-starter.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
• Must have excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills.
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Possess and be able to present a professional demeanor at all times to Members and Guests.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Must be physically able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, and lift up to 15 lbs.
• Must be able to conduct walking tours of the property.
• Plays golf and has a knowledgeable understanding of the game.
• Have a passion for hospitality and understanding of what it takes to be successful.
• Ability to study, analyze, and interpret complex activities and/or information to improve new practices or develop new approaches.
• Proficient in the use of a CRM tool.
• Knowledge of Canva, CMS platforms, and social scheduling tools preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word).
• Clubessential and Jonas experience preferred.

Compensation
• Salary + Commissions on sales. $170-$200k Base-BOE
• Full Time Year-Round
