Description

The San Diego County Water Authority is seeking a Principal Construction Manager to lead and oversee complex, high impact capital projects that keep critical water infrastructure running safely and efficiently.
In this leadership role, you’ll manage construction activities, ensure quality and compliance, coordinate with engineers and contractors, resolve field issues, and contribute to longterm reliability planning. Ideal candidates bring strong technical expertise in publicworks or civilinfrastructure construction, excellent problemsolving abilities, and effective communication skills.
Requirements
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above requires graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in construction management or civil engineering and eight years of professional construction management experience; including experience in public water/utility construction management; and at least two years supervisory experience at the level of the Water Authority's Senior Construction Manager; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of California or Certified Construction Manager through the Construction Management Association of America. In lieu of these certifications, applicants may be considered with fourteen years of increasingly responsible construction management experience in heavy civil construction, with at least six years of experience at the level of the Water Authority's Senior Construction Manager, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
