Octavius Finance, a specialist search firm focused on private markets, investment banking and alternative investments, is currently working on behalf of a leading private placement agent to appoint a project manager to join its London team.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a highly respected advisor at the heart of the private equity fundraising market, working alongside experienced capital raising professionals to deliver fundraising mandates for leading European mid-market private equity fund managers.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of the fundraising process, coordinating complex projects from inception through to completion and acting as the central point of contact across clients, investors and internal teams. This is a highly visible role that offers exposure to some of the world's leading GPs and institutional investors, with the opportunity to support and coordinate international investor roadshows and fundraising campaigns. The role involves regular travel, both across Europe and internationally, providing first-hand exposure to client meetings, investor presentations and fundraising activity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage the execution of private equity fundraising mandates from launch through to final close.
2. Coordinate the preparation and ongoing maintenance of key fundraising materials, including Pitch Books, Private Placement Memorandums (PPMs), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) and investor presentations.
3. Oversee project timelines, ensuring all fundraising deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
4. Coordinate GP management presentations, investor roadshows and fundraising meetings.
5. Manage investor target lists and support the distribution of fundraising materials throughout the fundraising process.
6. Liaise with private equity fund managers, institutional investors and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
7. Conduct market research and support strategic fundraising initiatives across the business.
8. Maintain fundraising documentation, ensuring materials remain accurate and reflect current market developments.

Requirements

The successful candidate is likely to have 5-7 years' experience within a professional services, advisory or financial services environment in a role such as:

1. M&A
2. Transaction Services
3. Investor Relations

The firm is also open to individuals with exceptional project management and stakeholder management experience gained outside financial services, especially former Armed Forces personnel looking to transition into private markets.

Experience should include:

1. Managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in a fast-paced environment.
2. Coordinating senior internal and external stakeholders.
3. Producing or managing high-quality client-facing documentation.
4. Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. An interest in private equity, private markets and fundraising.

Previous private placement or private equity fundraising experience is advantageous but not essential. The firm places greater emphasis on outstanding project management capabilities, commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
