Description
In this role, you will guide project teams through the full design and delivery process, ensuring clear communication, effective coordination, and strong project performance. You will work closely with internal leadership, design and technical staff, and external partners to advance project goals and maintain a high standard of quality. You’ll take the lead in shaping project direction, managing key milestones and resources, and fostering productive client relationships. Your work will also involve onsite engagement, informed planning supported by research and analysis, and representing the firm in a professional and thoughtful manner.
This position requires demonstrated experience delivering projects under Massachusetts public procurement laws (M.G.L. Chapter 149 and Chapter 149A), including participation in the procurement phase. Your work will also involve on-site engagement, informed planning supported by research and analysis, and representing the firm in a professional and thoughtful manner.
Position reports to: Principals
Responsibilities
- Lead and/or support procurement activities for public projects under M.G.L. Chapter 149 and 149A, including coordination of documentation, schedules, and stakeholder communication through procurement milestones
- Lead project teams in developing and delivering high-quality design solutions
- Collaborate closely with principals, designers, and technical staff
- Manage project scope, schedule, fee, and team assignments
- Serve as primary client contact and coordinate effectively with consultants
- Oversee project documentation and quality control across all phases
- Conduct site visits, building assessments, and existing-conditions documentation
- Support project planning using benchmarks, cost data, and code research
- Facilitate client meetings and represent the firm professionally
- Travel as required for site work and client engagement
Requirements
Qualifications
- Professional degree in architecture or preservation; architectural registration preferred
- 5–10+ years of project management and project delivery experience
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Adobe Creative Suite, as well as MS Office
- Collaborative and flexible approach to team leadership
- Ability to make design and technical decisions grounded in experience
- Experience with education-sector or renovation/preservation projects is a plus
- Required: Chapter 149 & Chapter 149A experience, with a minimum of one (1) project completed within the last five (5) years, including the procurement phase
- Preferred: Higher Education project experience (public procurement setting strongly preferred)
