Summary
As a Superintendent you will function as a field supervisor overseeing civil project operations on construction projects and be responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specifications, workmanship, and assignment of work to accomplish project goals, either directly or through general foreman/foreman. You will also work to maintain positive working relationships with clients, architects/engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff. NW Construction is a Heavy Civil Construction Contractor based in Bozeman, Montana. NWC specializes in heavy civil construction, taking on projects both large and small. Our work encompasses many areas of the construction industry, including but not limited to: Dams, Hydroelectric, RCC, Concrete, Large and Small Diameter Piping, Sheet Piling, Site Work, Utilities, Slurry Walls, Demolition, Marine, Environmental Work, Drill and Shoot and Aggregate Processing. Project sites are generally located in Montana and the western United States.
Location
At NWC, we go where the work is, which exposes your career to exciting opportunities. While this role will initially be based on our project near Babb, MT, we relocate our teams based on the work that is available for future projects. While our home office is located in Bozeman, MT, our project sites are generally located throughout the Western United States.
Essential Functions

- Schedule and manage construction activities, sequencing and the selection of engineering staff, crew workforce, equipment, and tools for maximum utilization and quality of work.
- Collaborate with estimating teams to develop estimates and budgets for large complex heavy civil project(s).
- Review, interpret and understand Contract Documents including specifications, drawings, and designs and ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed.
- Coordinates and schedules the work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, communicating to and via project foreperson to deliver instructions and project assignments as appropriate.
- Manage construction safety, environmental and quality compliance.
- Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
- Obtains required permits and licenses; executes construction contracts according to terms of agreement.
- Understand/manage/track project schedule, costs and budget progress with project milestones and takes all action necessary to keep project on track; communicates variances as they occur.
- Create, update, review, and maintain daily reports and logs for record keeping purposes.
- Review timecards and invoices for proper cost distribution and accountability.
- Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies.
- Experienced operator of heavy equipment with ability to train others

- Working around various heavy equipment operations.
